If you have a plumbing oroblem or a water heater problem like we did, call Rubber Duck Plumbing. You wont regret it! We have a 2 year old HTP rtc-199 tankless hot water heater that stopped heating the water during the big snow storm we had over the weekend. I thought maybe snow and ice had blocked the exhaust or intake on the outside of the house so I waited two days for warmer weather. Still no hot water. Later that day I decided to call 4 local plumbers near me on Long Island. I could tell that 2 of the local plumbers were just referral services with a website that made money for sending business to others. So their reviews didnt help. Right off the bat, first call, I was told $190 to come out and diagnose. I thought that sounded ridiculous but the second number I called said $185 to come out. The other two numbers a machine picked up so right away I knew that was the customer service I would receive. Then I called Rubber Duck Plumbing and Joe picked up right away. Instead of hitting me with a huge diagnostic fee right away, he asked when the was the last time I had the unit cleaned. I had no idea what he was talking about. He explained that the unit can gather mineral build up and needs to be flushed clean yearly. Nobody mentioned that to me. He said it may not fix the problem, but if it had not been cleaned in two years it needed it anyway. So he came by that Friday to clean the unit. He was neat, professional, and brought his own mat To make sure he didnt get my floors dirty. After a bit the cleaning was done but still no hot water. BUT, we had amazing water pressure! The bucket was disgusting so thank god he told me about the cleaning. Then he called my water heaters manufacturer and sat on the phone for over an hour to troubleshoot the unit. He ended up getting them to ship a new display panel and control box to us, overnight. Instead of charging us to install the two parts, which he couldve done and I wouldnt have known any better, he explained how easy it was to shut the unit off and swap out the old parts for the new ones. Most people do not do business like this anymore. There is no integrity, only greed with some companies. But Joe was honest, professional, polite, and Made it easy to trust him. He also happened to be pretty funny. Theres no doubt that I will give him a call the next time I have another plumbing-type problem. Rubber Duck Plumbing had earned our business as long as we live in this area. Thanks guys!!!-Greg and Jessica Bretana
