I hired Agate & Co. to tear up, replace and stain my front porch floor. From start to finish, working with Jimmy of Agate & Co. was a great experience. Jimmy came to estimate the job and did the work himself, with one helper. His price was lower than competitors. He checked in along the way, answering questions and, when necessary, making slight revisions to the original plan. He definitely knew what he was doing and had good suggestions for how to do the job. He worked for three days, including very rainy days, to complete the job. Jimmy was exactly the guy I would have wanted someone to recommend to me.

We hired Agate & Co to remodel our kitchen. From start to finish we had a positive experience with Jimmy and his team. Jim finished my basement, and now it's the best room in my house. My basement was completely bare, He finished the job in less then a week. Installed heat, but in a ceiling, did the walls and carpenting. I couldn't recommend any one better then the Agates

I had my living room dry wall done along with molding and I have to tell you that I couldn't be happier. The job was done quickly but beautifully. It's like I just had an extension built on from scratch it looks that new. I'm also having a deck built this spring and I'm excited to see the finished product. I recommend the service to all.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every project is different. Each one requiring its own detailed estimate. Anyone who says otherwise is either trying to sell something or they don't know what they're doing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get a full understanding for what the customer's expectations are. From there I can guide them into realizing their goals and if I can't then will let them know. I will not perform any unsafe or sub-standard work in order to meet a specific price point. I will offer suggestions as to how to remain within a desired budget. Once we find a solution then I give the customers a fully detailed scope of work outlining everything from timeline to materials. Then I get to work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
15 years of real estate and construction related experience. I am a licensed contractor in Westchester and Suffolk Counties in New York, and the state of New Jersey. I am an active real estate investor and licensed real estate agent in New York and New Jersey. I have worked on all sides of a real estate transaction which gives me a unique perspective into all facets concerning a property, not just the construction aspects. I can determine based off of experience what home renovations will statistically yield the highest increase in property value and which ones won't. I am also in the process of obtaining my Home Inspection License.
