Had Great Lakes Waterproofing come out to assess a basement leak. They offered a couple of options and helped me address the issue. They were the only company that gave me both realistic and reasonable options and I would totally recommend them.

Details: Basement • As recommended by professional • Flooding • Leaks • Residential

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had. Although the owner Joshua is a very nice guy that is where it ends. I was told when we started the project in my basement that it would take 2-3 days to scrap the walls and spray them. Then 4-5 days for trenching them and finishing them up. The first part was done in 3 days, but had to keep rescheduling because the worker Jim never showed up. Jim left plastic covering the door to the basement which he should not have done so. Left my washer and dryer in the middle of the floor so I could not use them. But because the men were coming to finish I thought that was why. Then I had promise after promise that Sal and Michael would be there to do the trenching and the finishing parts. Then I was told the office would call me to schedule an appt. But the office never called me. I finally called the office a few days later when they didn't call and speak to Tanya. She tells me since it's so nice outside they are doing the trench work outside. I told her that I was promised to have my work done right away but she stated no I have to wait until Oct 23, 2023. Tanya was nasty and rude on the phone and I did not want to have to deal with her. On Oct 18, 2023, Joshua the owner came to my house to move the washer and dryer back since no one had come to move them back. That day Oct. 23, 2023, comes and goes but no Sal or Michael. I talked to Joshua and he doesn't know why this is happening but does not get back to me with an answer as to what happened or another appointment. I spoke to him and he said he was sorry this all happened. I told him I wanted to cancel the rest of the project and would like my money back. Joshua agreed with me and said that the accountant would send the money back to me. Now we start the back and forth for a week trying to get my money back. I texted Joshua back and forth to get help and had to finally text and speak to Tanya but she was no help and when I texted Joshua to tell him I was getting nowhere with her he wondered why I was talking to Tanya when he and I was talking. I stated that he was not communicating with me and I was tired of waiting for my money. I finally decided to take them to small claims court. We will let the judge decide the outcome. Horrible customer service and they don't seem to know what they are doing. I checked the Better Business Bureau after the fact and they have a D rating. Don't hire them, not reliable at all. When they tell you 2 weeks for the project from start to finish and 2 months later it is nowhere near done. Thank you! Mary Uerkvitz

There are so many amazing aspects about this company. I found them on home advisor and cory (an owner) came over to explain the process of waterproofing my basement. he walked me through step by step of the job and showed me detailed visual aids which were super helpful. Once hired, his crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, were extremely respectful of my house and pets, and cleaned up after themselves. I would call them again and again and HIGHLY recommend them for water proofing needs, construction projects. Cory fleming was organized, on time, called whenever there was a potential issue to work out any kinks, and a pleasure to work with! He also went above and beyond to teach me about what he was doing, offered extra fee advice, and he made the extra effort at every turn. HIRE THEM, I am so glad I went with them. Plus, theres no water in sight in my basement!

its reviews like these that let me know I am in the correct profession, thank you so much Nicole! At Great Lakes Waterproofing, we want every homeowner to understand the process. a lot of the time waterproofing projects come as a surprise, you walk down stair and have standing water on the floor. Its my job (corey) to ensure that every homeowner understands the work that is necessary to rectify their water problems and to go above and beyond when it comes to fixing it. Thank you again Nicole! also tell amy and your dad we said hello.
