Introduction
I am passionate about teaching the violin and foster a fun, productive, and confidence-building lesson environment that is tailored to each students' individual learning style and goals! I have created my own personalized curriculum from violin schools including the Suzuki Method and Mimi Zweig, as well as that of my late mentor, the renowned violin pedagogue Shirley Givens. I teach out of my home studio in East Williamsburg, as well as through Zoom to students worldwide. I teach students ranging from the youngest of beginners to advanced, collegiate-level violinists as well as adult learners. Book your free trial lesson today!

Ms. Mia was my son's violin teacher when she was in California. She is kind, friendly and very patient with my son. She is a gifted violinist but also highly skilled at teaching. She taught him many techniques as he advanced his level. She made the lessons fun and challenging. He loved and enjoyed playing all concerto pieces she selected for him to practice. As a parent, she was super approachable and pleasant to talk to. My son and I truly miss her. I highly recommend her to all levels of students.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Tuition is charged monthly, at a flat rate based on a 4-week month. Lessons are taught weekly, in 30, 45, or 60-minute slots. I accept tuition payments through Venmo, PayPal and Zelle as well as in cash. Payment structure is as follows: 60 minute lessons: $400/month 45 minute lessons: $300/month 30 minute lessons: $200/month

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

All new students are welcome to receive a free trial lesson, in which we can meet, I can hear them play (or introduce them to the violin if they haven't had any previous instruction), and we can discuss goals for private lessons together! This is also a great time for any questions and for going over my Studio Policies together.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have both a Bachelor's Degree (2014) and a Master's Degree (2016) in Violin Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I was the recipient of the Sergei Barsukov Violin Scholarship and Concertmaster of the Conservatory Orchestra. I have been teaching students of all ages and abilities since 2010, and have created my own curriculum of pieces and exercises to help students succeed!
