I am a professional pianist with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Juilliard School, and currently working on my Doctoral of Musical Arts at Manhattan School of Music. I recently made my Carnegie hall debut in 2022. I have worked with several world-renowned pianists including Robert McDonald, Horacio Gutierrez, and Haesun Paik. Their influence not only helped me develop as a pianist but also taught me how to teach and showed me the impact of truly masterful teacher can have.
I previously served as a piano faculty member at Bronx Conservatory of Music, Lindeblad School of Music, and Arete Music Academy, in addition to teaching private students. I have taught students at varying levels of experience and from varying backgrounds, ranging from 5-year-old to adult. Some of them had their very first piano lesson with me and others are promising concert pianists at Juilliard pre-college.
I have been immersed in music schools and music training my entire life, and through the years I have learned what teaching methods are effective and which aren't, along with variations to fit different students' needs. A good teacher builds a foundation in their student and then supports and encourages them to ultimately teach themself. Although it sometimes can be a lengthy process, I hope to teach my students to become independent musicians, capable of more than just playing a few songs. While this can be challenging, I try to help my students not only learn to play, but also learn to love to play. I believe playing music is not just a skill, but a joy, and I hope we can have fun learning both!
