- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a bachelor’s degree in music and philosophy from Brandeis University; a master’s degree in piano performance from Mannes College of Music; and a professional studies certificate from Manhattan School of Music. I started my piano studies at the age of four. Early on I began to perform and participated in competitions, taking top prizes at NEPTA, MMTA and was also a finalist in the 14th Chiang Wen-Yeh International Young Artist Piano Competition. During my undergraduate studies I won the school’s concerto competition, and was twice selected to perform in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, both times as a winner of the American Fine Arts Festival. I have also participated in piano festivals in New York City (The Beethoven Institute; International Keyboard Institute and Festival), Austria (Mozarteum International Summer Academy), and England (Oxford Philomusica) and have received masterclasses from Richard Goode, Frank Wibaut, Mia Chung, Marios Papadoupoulos, and Nelita True.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always known that I wanted to work with people directly, and to combine that with my love of music quickly led me to realize that teaching was the way for me.
