Now offering online and remote training! As a former athlete at Harvard, I know all about training for performance and combine that knowledge with my certifications to maximize my client's results. Let's make fitness fun and rewarding. I specialize in creating innovative, fresh, and effective workouts to get you the results you want. Pulling from a variety of methods and new trends in fitness, I create custom workouts that constantly challenge the body and keep clients engaged. Outlets like NBCNews, Men's Journal, Bustle, Thrillist, InStyle, and Allure have featured my workouts and wellness tips. I try to make each session as fun as possible. Be prepared for jokes and lively banter. Any given workout with me will include components of: Weight Lifting, Agility Drills, Core Work, Muscular Endurance, Cardio, Metabolic Conditioning, Interval (HIIT), Kettlebells, Mat Pilates, Components of Yoga, Running, Speed Work, and Body Building I pride myself on providing my unbridled attention and utmost professionalism, and not to mention, a fun time to all of my clients. I know that working out can be a drag, which is why I try to make each one of your workouts enjoyable and entertaining. You will constantly be exposed to new exercises and routines complemented by your friendly, supportive, and instructional trainer.

I have been working with John for a year, and I’m so grateful for it! I’d never worked with an in-person trainer before, and I always felt that there were certain levels of fitness that I couldn’t achieve. Over the past year, my strength and confidence have grown, and I’ve become excited about working out as I’ve seen the benefits from it. John is so encouraging, understands my specific needs at any time, is attentive to injury risks and prevention, and also pushes me enough when needed so that I really feel I can progress. Now I’ve started running a bit as well and I’m taking advantage of John’s extensive track experience for tips in improving there too. Highly recommend!

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience working with John Ford! From the moment training began, it was clear that he truly wanted to help me achieve my fitness goals. John is very knowledgeable about all the workings of the body, tailoring each workout to my current needs, as well as constantly challenging me. He has been great at directing me when I am not sure how come I might be feeling off. He will stop a session to massage/stretch out a kink in my leg, rather than just move onto what is next. John is always positive, motivating, and patient. He created and periodically updates a personalized plan that has shown terrific results. I could not walk half a block without cramping and now can go nearly half a mile. I have lost a surprising (it seems only to me!) amount of weight in a short period. John's attention to detail, encouragement, and professionalism includes letting me know what’s up without me feeling that I am being spoken down to or falsely praised (as with previous trainers). Whether you are looking to improve strength, endurance, or overall wellness, I wholeheartedly recommend John Ford. He makes every session engaging and I truly feel I have accomplished something before we end each session. If you are ready to get results and feel supported while doing so, John Ford is your go-to-Trainer!

I've been working with John now for around nine months and have been very pleased at the changes I've been able to make in terms of gaining muscle, developing strength and losing fat. He puts thought into his training plan for you but also integrates feedback along the way. John is very much interested in your success and as a nice plus is fun to work with.

If you want to use every ounce of energy and feel the most alive you ever have, John is you trainer. I started with a low level of fitness and over a year and a half, have been replacing pounds of body fat with muscle month after month and feeling better in every way. John is extremely knowledgeable about body composition, exercise and nutrition and puts together a plan that fits the goals you want, be it strength, speed or if you just want to look like him ;) Everything is tracked so you can see your progress which helps when it gets tough. It does take time but you have to trust the process, it works. He will push you to your best, you'll grow muscles you never knew you had but theres always fun and good laugh to be had. It doesn't get easier, you just get faster stronger and lift heavier. Flexibility is great, whether its your local gym or home gym (my preference) and if the session starts late, you'll go until your finished. If you are looking for a personal trainer that actual cares about your health/wellness/fitness, John is all that, and more.

I could not rank John higher. I HATED exercise before working with John. He makes it much better with fascinating conversation on any topic that is of interest to you. He designs an ideal workout -- the first thing all my friends say when they see me is how much better I look. He knows his stuff and will use his expertise to advise all aspects of your life -- not just the workout but also give you tips on sleep and nutrition tips. I literally have been blown away. I could not imagine a better personal trainer.
