FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Amazing Ken kid's show is great for ages 4 & up. Each show is tailored for age range and group size. My walk around magic is recommended for ages 9+ yrs. There's a standard fee for the 4 'outer' boroughs: BK, Qns, SI, Bx. Manhattan rates are a bit higher as are shows in NJ, etc to cover gas, tolls and travel time. The show runs an hour, but I also offer 1.5 - 2 hr packages with balloon animals and / or BUBBLES! With special promotions, I can also provide free magic tricks for all the kids to take home at the end of the show.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The client and I would discuss the type of event and if it's at the client's home or catering hall, the number and ages of the audience and your location. I'll also ask if there's a particular theme or special likes to possibly incorporate into the show. Many times at birthday parties there are budding magicians in the audience who want to upgrade their skills! I also offer a mini-workshop where I can teach the kids one or two easy magic tricks to amaze friends and family. I'll work with you to go through a quick checklist a day or two before the event to make sure all is in readiness. My act is self-contained and I basically only require a square table from the client. My goal is to make it a memorable day, one the kids & parents will talk about long after. I know how important birthdays are - that's why I've made them my specialty!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Intrigued by magic as a kid, I went on to become a member of the Society of American Magicians and started entertaining professionally in the United Kingdom where I joined the renowned Magic Circle in London. I've taught and lectured about magic for the psychology department at Brooklyn College and performed for clients such as the Kennedy family (their Xmas party), The Friars Club, The 21 Club, Club Med resorts, Stand Up New York comedy club and appeared in Italy, Colombia, England, and Mexico.
