Introduction

My journey has been fun and exciting, I was born in Peru, studied in Spain, played with bands around Europe and then moved to USA where I graduated from Berklee College of Music (Summa Cum Laude) as an scholarship student. Now in NYC, I've been working as a drummer and teacher for the past 5 years. Still, my teaching experience comes from way back (when I was still in Peru, more than 10 years ago), getting my first private students and subbing for my teachers at my music school. Teaching drums has always been an integral part of my musical life and all of that knowledge throughout those years is what I offer. I feel patience, flexibility and communication are really important to have a good student/teacher relationship. It doesn't matter your level or age, I'm sure I'll be helpful in your journey as a drummer. Just hit me up! I offer a trial lesson for a discounted rate! It's hard to not have fun when playing drums!!! Still, I think that most fulfilling part is to see the students' growth throughout the lessons, especially when they get to finally express themselves behind a drum kit.

Very nice! This is my first time to search courses outside of the school in New York. David is patient with my questions and responsible even after classes. Very easy to reach out! If you want to find a drum teacher, please take him!!!!!!

I would recommend you to have drum lessons with David. I came for my first lesson being a complete beginner, and now after several classes I already can play a song! Also, it is important for me that David can answer my questions about drums and explain many thing I am curious about, which helps not only to play, but also to know the world of drums better.

David is so wonderful to work with. Not only is he so knowledgeable with the drums, he has a gift in teaching new students how to play. I feel so lucky that I get to work with him. I am very much a beginner and he has been so patient and kind in teaching me how to read notes and play songs. He really is great. 10/10 would recommend anyone to hire him

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a discounted first lesson so you can see if we are a good fit! If you decide to go on with the lessons you can pay by the hour or buy packs of 4 lessons (for a discounted rate too!) Lessons online are also available!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication is key because every person is different. It's really important to know the student's experience, musical taste, expectations (if any) and goals (if any), so we can work on a plan that will suit him/her best and find the best approach to make the lessons as efficient and fulfilling as possible!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years of experience teaching both privately and through schools. I've also studied in Spain (Barcelona - L'aula de musics) and graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston (Summa Cum Laude) as a scholarship student. Currently I've been working as a professional drummer and teaching in the NYC for the past 8 years. It's been a great experience so far!
