Introduction
Harvest & Revel is a full service, boutique event catering company based out of Brooklyn, NY. For adventurous and thoughtful eaters who care about taste and well-being, we are the alternative catering company offering well-sourced and creatively cooked food with style as well as ethics and health consciousness. With every detail- we help facilitate refreshingly positive, artful, and satisfying events and meals for all occasions. Unlike most other caterers, Harvest & Revel does not have set menus because we customize every menu that we create, responding to the vision of each client. Directed by this vision, we draw upon the ingredients and flavors being offered by the current season to design a memorable and delicious culinary experience. Also unlike most private event caterers and private chefs in New York, we always work with all-natural ingredients that are at the peak of their seasonal freshness. We focus on celebrating the natural flavors of the food and helping them to shine. It is our goal for you to walk away from your event feeling positive about your consumption, knowing how each of your dishes was crafted, and where they came from. We enjoy working with clients to customize an event specific to their vision. Since we are a full service catering company- we can provide staffing, ice packages, coffee & tea service, disposable plateware, and event decorations. We also work closely with rental, floral, day-of-coordination, and DJ partners and can coordinate all of those services and consolidate them onto one bill- thus eliminating much of the headache that comes with planning events. Looking forward to working with you!

Sara Elise and her team catered my housewarming party for ~40 people at my apartment on the UWS. She developed an amazing menu based on my preferences and the execution was flawless. Her team (despite battling some difficult weather/traffic and running a few minutes late) still managed to create a beautiful spread before the guests hit the door, and the food was fantastic. Her bartender was also a welcome presence at the party serving up cocktails and wine. I couldn't recommend her team more highly.

Sara Elise and her team are quick to reply, professional, accommodating, and - most importantly - culinarily savvy! Bed Stuy Kitchen provided delicious and inventive appetizers for my off-site event, and did so without a kitchen, almost no light, and very little space. The team was totally flexible and had an awesome positive attitude that made my event feel warm and friendly - exactly the vibe I was hoping for. It was really easy to communicate with Sara in the preparatory period (which was about a week in total, but just a couple of days for hammering out details) and I so appreciated the professionalism with which she treated my event, and the space (which was borrowed and therefore extra-sensitive). Sara arrived on time and scouted the space with me to set up for her needs before her team arrived. I thought that was a really smart move and I appreciated her consideration of my desire to be "low impact" in a borrowed space. The team took ownership of their space so that I didn't need to micromanage, but worked within the confines of what the space allowed - a perfect balance! The food: everyone went BONKERS for the Bourbon caramel sea salt popcorn - it was ridiculously delicious and nicely balanced. The cheese and charcuterie boards were simple and delicious - and completely wiped out by the end of the night - and the passed apps flew off trays. Sara calculated the amount of food needed really well, and I appreciate having a well-fed event without lots of waste. I also requested bar service (I provided the alcohol) and her bartender was not only competent, but also warmly professional which matched the tone of my event perfectly. Basically, hire Bed Stuy Kitchen if you want an accommodating, professional, and creative caterer. They will make your event easier on you and tastier for your guests. A big thank you to Sara, Ora, and team!

Sara Elise, Ora and the rest of their team were fantastic to work with both during the planning phase of the event and during the actual event. Ora was great in helping me make the cocktail menu more "bespoke" for my 40th birthday and Sara Elise was super accommodating along the way too. I chose a bar package too and on the night, the bartender, Georgia, was an absolute hit with my guests. The table prepared by Sara Elise was also very well received and the food spoken about for days after. I will gladly work with this team again. The downgrade in the score is as a result of one of the suppliers (glassware) who was a bit aggressive during the drop off. Overall though, Harvest and Revel is an OUTSTANDING business to work with.

Sara was the first caterer I ever hired for a double birthday party at home. My wife was petrified the day before because we had never met her or sampled her food. Her fears were completely unfounded and the food was delicious and the staff super professional. The bartender Sara provided unfortunately served our guests faster than the food could soak up, resulting in much fun but many hangovers. Very likely to offer more business.

I hired BSK for a surprise birthday that I was throwing in the city, and I have to say that not only were they accommodating and really helpful during the planning, but they were absolutely spectacular at the event: Not only were they very accommodating to my guests, but they were prompt, organized, and really timely. Every part of the evening, from appetizer to dessert was so well timed, yet totally relaxed. Ora and Sara Elise were friendly, approachable, and even accommodating (as so many people loved the food, there were many questions on the recipes!) I had requested that the meal itself be vegan-accessible, with the addition of a simple protein like poultry. The food was so delicious and tasty that many of my guests (at finding out some of the options, like the cashew-ginger soup, were vegan) actually said "if I could eat like THIS every day? I would totally be vegan". The chicken was flavourful and juicy, the peach cake was light and deliciously peachy, the cheese board was a HIT... I mean, I could go on, truly, but you get the point. Overall I would not hesitate for a second to hire them again. If you are looking for some talented, responsive, friendly and personable chefs, you have found your match.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We love hearing about our client's vision for their event before providing them with a quote. If they would like to proceed, they fill out a deposit form and we create a customized menu for them. The deposit form does not mean that the client is committing to the initial menu we provide for them- but it just means that they are committing to working with us for their catering needs. From there, we can edit the menu as much as the client sees fit to make sure that all of their desires are accounted for. We can also handle rentals, staffing, beverages, coffee & tea service, takeaway treats for guests, table design, and disposables if needed as well.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

We provide private chef services for various families and artist retreats in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Hamptons; provide catering in corporations, schools, community art centers, and private homes for birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, bat and bar mitzvahs, seasonal brunches, dinner parties, cocktail parties, etc.; as well as provide nutrition and holistic wellness mentorship for curriculum, mentorship programs, and individuals.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

It's helpful when clients come to us already knowing the type of meal they want to have catered (breakfast, brunch, lunch, cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, snacks, etc.), the number of guests (rough estimate), if the group has any pertinent allergies or dietary restrictions, the venue location and details (if there is a stove, oven, fridge, sink), and if they need any additional services such as rentals, staff, eco-friendly disposable plateware, bartender service, etc. It is also extremely helpful when clients have an idea of their budget and let us know it ahead of time.
