Steve has played both upright and electric bass professionally since 1990, and freelances around New York with Jazz, Rock, Blues, Country, Theater, World Music and Big Band ensembles.
Steve has been teaching professionally for over 20 years privately and on the faculty of the Bass Collective and is the author of several books for bassists: Developing Reading Skills for the Contemporary Bassists, and Afro-Caribbean and Brazilian Rhythms for the Bass.

Steve is an amazing teacher. I studied with him for a few months and only paused due to schedule changes. I will be back when I can. He has a great way of teaching theory and showing how to apply it. He is also great at gauging your interests and picking songs to learn hag really for your style and interests. Also a nice guy and patient teaching style. Easy communication to schedule lessons.
