FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My goal is to make interior design accessible to everyone, and I work within each client's stated budget. My standard beginning pricing is $40 per hour or an agreed upon flat fee for a specific project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to gain a sense of someone's wants and needs; some people know exactly what they want, while others don't know where to begin, and both are just fine. I learn about tastes and dislikes when they exist, and give visual examples of my understanding of what is desired. It's helpful to talk this through in someone's home or office in order to better grasp the routines of daily life. I take measurements and follow up within two days with a visual design board with suggestions for furnishings etc., careful to stay within the stated budget. We create goals and timelines that work for clients so that we complete at a pace that feels comfortable. One important goal is for people to feel at ease (rather than overwhelmed) with the design process and ultimately happy in their new surroundings.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a certificate in Interior Design and Architecture Studies from Parsons School of Design in NYC. I keep up with design trends through reading publications and design blogs, and contribute to a design blog as well.
