FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price is not standard. It is based on a number of factors including whether I'm required for a rehearsal, which language(s) are used, the location of the venue, and the date of the wedding. I usually offer discounts around the holidays.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have a chat on the phone. Then I email them the wedding ceremony document which they can customize, and some JPEG images of the decorative certificates that I offer. We usually meet for coffee to review everything. We exchange contact information. On the day of the ceremony I text them saying that I'm on my way. After the ceremony I text again saying that the license is on it's way to the City Clerk. Once the couple receives their license from the Clerk, they email me to let me know. Sometimes we connect on social media as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2008 I was hired by a wedding planner in Japan to conduct Christian-style weddings in Japanese, in chapels all around central Japan. For five months I trained by standing in the back of chapels watching others conduct ceremonies. I also went through language training to perform the ceremonies in Japanese without mistakes. When I returned to the US, I began conducting ceremonies in Spanish, Italian and French because I had studied those languages as well. I've done over 750 weddings to day; and counting!
