FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are all 60 minutes in length. Rates are currently on a sliding scale from $80-$110 in Astoria/Skype and $90-$120 in Manhattan.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When deciding on a teacher, I would try not to let price be a major factor. Even if overall cost is a major factor for you, having high quality training less often is going to produce a better result than more frequent low quality training. Lower quality training is more likely to lead to vocal problems and possibly damage.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Working with a voice teacher can be a very intimate experience. Singing in front of someone can make one feel very vulnerable, so it is important to find a teacher that you feel comfortable with. I always remind my students that lessons are the time for them to make mistakes and to fail. Lessons should feel like a safe time to experiment with new singing technique and new songs. One should never feel like making a mistake would anger the teacher.
