I've been working with Peter for a couple lessons now and plan to continue doing so. I am a beginner, so lots to learn, but he's very patient. Lessons focus a lot on actually speaking German, which is good (and a fast way to get over your discomfort). I appreciate very much his flexibility in the lessons, allowing me to ask questions and get clarification on something that might be outside our direct lesson agenda.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Here's my price list for ONLINE lessons (Skype or Zoom): $30 for 1/2 hour $40 for 45 minutes $50 for 1 hour $70 for 1,5 hours. I also offer discounts - please ask me about it!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always offer prospective students a FREE consultation via Skype or Zoom. It matters to me who you are and what your goals are in taking German lessons and I'll happily take the time to come up with a detailed lesson plan to get you where you want to be fast. Generally, I have a ton of materials we can draw from and I enjoy working with a shared google doc where I can write down vocabulary, words & phrases and conversations we are having in German, so you'll have all our lesson content in one place.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a professional and experienced German tutor (native speaker from Austria, fluent in English, college degree, over 10 years teaching experience - all ages) and I have specialized in one-on-one lessons. I have taught taught about 90 students so far on and off Thumbtack from age 6 to age 75. I have also done many translation jobs (German - English) for companies and institutions such as Deutsches Haus, Incite and Anton Bruckner University.
