Introduction

I am able to bring out the specific vocal timbre of each voice. I don't impose a fixed idea of a "my" sound on anyone. Rather will bring out the uniqueness and beauty of your instrument. I think my students should sing music they love and start to apply the technique right away to get the joy of singing! I am thrilled when a student is able to sing freely and express themselves with ease! My students have gone on to having successful careers in everything from pop, jazz, musical theater to opera.

Working one-on-one with Valerie was an eye opening and enriching experience. She was able to immediately pick up on the subtle nuances of my voice and help me to open to a production and sound that is more free and easy. My time learning from Valerie at her Casentino Voice program has not only helped me technically, but under the direction of Valerie’s own life experience and wisdom, has reminded me why I sing.

I have worked with Ms. Girard frequently, attending her Summer program Casentino Voice twice and taking private lessons after that. What I like about the classes is her very concrete, clear and consistent vision on vocal technique which is based on the principles of great old school Italian singing (coordinated registers, clear vowels, breathing, core). Besides that Ms. Girard is a lovely lady who likes a laugh and will be honest without being harsh. Ms. Girard has had an extensive career so she has great experience and knows what she’s talking about. I’ve already learned a lot from her and will continue to do so.

She is very knowledgeable and patience. Make you feel really comfortable and boost your skills to your singing skills. She also does singing tutorial (casentino voice) in Italy also you performing at the end of tutorial . I'm so exiting to have this kind of opportunity.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to teach a one hour lesson. Lessons must be canceled with 24 hr notice.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I ask every student to bring a song or aria to sing at your first lesson so that I get a sense of where you are vocally and musically. We then work on vocal exercises and technique. The rest of the lesson is spent on singing your music and immediately start applying the new technique.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory, New England Conservatory of Music, HB Acting Studio, The Goldovsky Institute. Private study with Felix Knight, Jennie Tourel, Frederick Jagel, Viviane Mordo.
