- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
All notaries should be certified from the NNA (National Notary Association). You can look up any notary's credentials and verify that they are in good standing with a current background check on nna.org. All Notaries must carry surety insurance bond and a background check done once a year. The background checks are one of the most in depth background check that can be given for a particular profession. Due to the nature of this business, notaries are considered a public official, well trusted, and commissioned by the state they reside. Notaries are to be a impartial witness to help deterrent fraud by identifying individuals with current valid identification. Notaries are used for a broad span of positions, because of the commission they hold. Companies will hire/contract a notary since they already carry a background check in good standing and are famaliar with the different documents and witnessing laws and procedures. Notaries are used for real estate loan signings, any witnessing i.e. bank lock box openings, court depositions, any documents needing impartial witness and signing, jurats, oaths and affirmations, test proctoring, field inspections, wedding officiants, and so much more!
