Since 2016 we have helped many students begin and continue on their musical journey. We offer theory classes and private lessons in piano, guitar, strings, ukulele, drums, and voice. We know you are busy and it can be very hard to find a reliable music teacher. That's why we go above and beyond to find the BEST music teachers in the Albuquerque area--so you don't have to! Our staff consists of experienced music teachers, capable of teaching all ages and levels. We constantly renovate and improve our facilities as well as provide on-going support to our instructors to ensure we are always providing our students and parents with the best possible musical experience. In accordance with health orders during COVID-19, we are offering both online and in person lessons. After our beloved piano teacher of 5+ years retired for health reasons, I was on the search for a good piano teacher for my two kids ages (now) 14 and 11.After visiting and talking with at least 10 different teachers and studios we found the ALBQ Institute of music!My kids have been taking lessons here for almost 2 years and this studio offers the newest, state-of-the-art baby grand and upright pianos for the kids to learn on. The studio offers flexible schedules with make-up times for missed classes. They have recitals and offer theory classes and occasional special workshops to help the students improve their talent. There is even opportunity to earn college credit!The students can choose to participate in competitions and be critiqued by other professionals in the industry. My kids get to help choose the pieces they play and teachers Lidiya and Tatayna are always positive and encouraging. My kids really enjoy these teachers and are always challenged.It's obvious to me that the teachers at this studio are passionate about music and really care for each and every student's success!The studio itself is located close to NE heights schools and the location provides security features which also provide piece of mind when students are at their lessons.In the 8+ years that my two kids have been taking piano lessons we went through quite a lot of teachers since our first one retired and we are extremely happy with the ALBQ Institute of Music!We have already referred other families here and we will continue to refer Many More!

I have extreme anxiety, and when I started voice and piano here I had VERY LITTLE self-confidence. I was convinced I was never going to end up comfortable enough to be able to focus on learning. Boy, was I wrong. Tuesdays and Thursdays are now my favorite days of the week because I get to be at the institute. I've had awful educational experiences my whole life. I can honestly say that Mariana is one of maybe three teachers I've ever had that made me feel like I'm doing something right. This school teaches self-confidence along with skill, and everyone staffed there (that I've met, which is almost everyone) are amazing. All I can say is thank you, and I recommend this place highly to both children and adults looking to learn a skill in a way tailored to their needs and need to be with teachers that make them comfortable.

One of the best music institutes in Albuquerque! Ms. Tatyana is one of the best piano teachers that you can find throughout US. She is very knowledgeable and nice to kids. My daughter made a big improvement after studying from her. I highly recommend it to everyone without any hesitation!!!

I am an adult learner who was extremely nervous about learning to play an instrument so late in life. I found Albuquerque Institute of Music and took a trial lesson before signing up for lessons that I was scared to commit to. Everyone was so friendly! My first lesson started with me walking into the school shaking with nervousness, but leaving with confidence and enthusiasm, and I immediately scheduled for more lessons. My instructor is very warm and patient, and I would suggest anyone who wants a wonderful musical learning experience to give Albuquerque Institute of Music a try.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All of our lessons are priced the same, regardless of instrument, experience, or age. There is a one-time registration fee, and lessons are billed monthly. Prices are as follows for once-per week lessons: 30-minute lessons $117 + tax = $126.21/month 45-minute lessons $167 + tax = $180.15/month 60-minute lessons $222 + tax = $239.48/month
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New customers are encouraged to have a 30-minute trial lesson, which can be schedule via email or by phone. The trial lesson is individually priced at $31.55. The purpose of the trial is to see if the studios and instructor are a good fit, and the trial is no-obligation. If the customer likes the instructor and would like to sign up, then they may fill out paperwork and set up monthly billing.
