FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
You pay no attorney fee until we settle your case. We use a contingency fee,not an hourly fee. That means that we get a percentage of the personal injury claim only if we win. We don't charge an attorney fee for property damage or diminution of value claims as long as we are representing you on the personal injury claim. You don't pay us anything until the case settles and we get money from the insurance company.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All potential clients considering Caruso Law Offices will meet with attorney Mark Caruso at the very onset. We believe that it is extremely important that the attorney and client develop a strong relationship at the very beginning of the case. After discussing the case with you, we will give you our recommendations on how to proceed. We will present you a one page attorney agreement for your review. The attorney will review the attorney retainer agreement with you and then give you time alone to read the agreement. You can also take the agreement home with you to review at your own leisure. The case will be assigned by Mark Caruso to a specific paralegal at the firm whose job will be to manage the case file. These paralegals cannot give legal advice, and all such advice must come from an attorney at the law firm. However, the paralegals can be a great conduit to the attorney in keeping your case file up to date with all medical bills and records, lost wage records and property damage information. You will receive a letter identifying all the staff at the firm together with all of their duties. This list includes the receptionist, bookkeeper, legal secretaries, medical records specialists and file clerks. All our staff has one duty, to make sure that we get you the most money possible as quickly as possible and to keep our clients happy and satisfied through the entire process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of Pepperdine University undergraduate and Pepperdine University School of Law. I am also a graduate of the National College of Trial Advocacy and have completed almost every course for the Keenan Ball College of Advocacy. Mark Caruso is also a member of national truck attorney associations, national trial lawyer association and other professional personal injury, car accident and commercial truck accident attorney groups. All lawyers in New Mexico are required to take continuing legal education. However, the lawyers at Caruso Law Offices take and even teach courses on personal injury and wrongful death. We stay up to date on all the latest results and strategies to get our clients the most money possible. That's because we only handle one type of law--personal injury and wrongful death.
