FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am now charging according to the difficulty of the instrument chosen to learn. Piano, 30 minute lesson will be $23.00 dollars per student. Guitar will be $25.00 for 30 minute lesson. Violin will be $32.00 for 30 minute lesson. If a student needs a more tailored lesson because of autism, sensory processing disorder, etc. the price is $35.00 per 30 minutes once a week. If there are three or more children in one family I am willing to give a small discount of $5.00.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I give the student/family an orientation for 10 or 15 minutes in which we discuss their goals and the policies of the School. The very first homework assignment is to come up with a "Top Five" list of songs the student desires to learn. The fee for this is based on the length of lesson and the instrument chosen to learn.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an AAS degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I spent a significant amount of time at El Camino College in their music department in the 1990's. I have been in business for 20 years giving lessons, recitals, and teaching. I am going to teachers' workshops through Suzuki Strings of Santa Fe, Robertson's and Sons, etc.
