I had an issue where the heat wasn't working at an investment property. The tech that came out was curt and would only say that the thermostat needed to be replaced with no explanation. The cost? A cost a couple hundred dollars to swap out a thermostat. I declined because the price was extremely high for a job that takes no more than 15 minutes. I just paid the trip fee and then checked the HVAC unit myself. The issue? The thermostat batteries died and needed to be replaced...
