I help students, music enthusiasts, and professionals alike to reach their full potential, regardless of where they are in their piano journey.
I am a professional musician with a bachelor's degree in piano performance from the Eastman School of Music, a master's degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a master's of education degree from Columbia University. In addition to being a seasoned performer, I am also a passionate pedagogue with over ten years of experience.
In a typical lesson, I address topics such as how to practice effectively, how to attain clarity while remaining relaxed, how to convey desired musical ideas through phrasing, to name a few. As an experienced teacher, I am able to pinpoint issues and help resolve them quickly in lessons. Eventually, my goal is to help students achieve the highest level of musicality and expression through technical autonomy and independent thinking.
I have prepared students for certification exams (i.e. ABRSM and NYSSMA), pre-college and conservatory auditions. My middle and high school students have gone on to major conservatories and pre-college programs. My adult students have achieved their musical goals and been able to play pieces they never imagined they could just a couple lessons ago.
Lessons take place remotely at my studio in Short Hills, New Jersey, where I have a Yamaha baby grand piano and professional audio/video equipment.
Please feel free to message me with any questions you might have. I am dedicated to teaching and am more than happy to help. I look forward to hearing from you!
