Introduction
I am Chef Marie Maglio, owner of Proper Palate. We are a true Farm to Table, biodynamic farming supporting business. I look forward to working with you. I am an Organic/Gluten Free/ allergen free private chef who specializes in providing meals to those who want quality dishes. We source from local farms for produce, meats and dairy. Each time we are selected for a job we ensure to provide not only the best service and quality but take the pressure off our clients, especially for those special occasions. We have an awesome team of servers, bartenders and staff with over 30 years experience in the food industry. We do not cook vegan using processed or soy based products. We have a minimum of 6 or more people for Saturday parties. *We are not able to issue refunds on deposits due to scheduling conflicts or Covid/sickness related cancellations. We will do our best to reschedule for a day that works for both parties. Prices will fluctuate with market prices*

Marie helped make a birthday celebration for my sister that was everything she wanted! Marie was flexible and thoughtful, she helped us create a delicious menu and adjusted on the fly to our specific needs. I would highly recommend working with Marie and enjoying her amazing food!!

Food was delicious! Chef Marie was very helpful along the process. She was timely, and really created a great meal ! The gravy on our filet was the best I have ever had ! Thank you for a lovely evening for my mother's 60th Birthday.

My family and I were very impressed by Marie. What I love the mostis her level of responsiveness when it came to constructing the menu and all the other details. I was in regular contact with hours until the event. We loved her personality and she was very accommodating in the chaotic environment. The food was amazing and her plating made the food even more appetizing. When we are in town, we will definitely be hiring her for more events.

We recently threw a fantastic, elegant surprise birthday party with 34 guests in our backyard in Bergen County, and Chef Marie from ProperPalate.com made it an event to remember. Amazing Customized Menu: Chef Marie really nailed it with the menu. She took our preferences and the season into account, offering great suggestions that perfectly matched our needs. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right, even with some tricky requests. Stress-Free Party: Having Chef Marie and her team was such a relief. They showed up early, got used to our space quickly, and took care of everything so we didn’t have to stress. They made the whole event so much easier and more enjoyable. Top-Notch Service: Beyond the mains being perfect (Prime Rib, Salmon, Lemon Chicken being spot on, one of the best things about Chef Marie’s service was how clean and organized everything stayed. The kitchen was spotless by the end, and they took care of all the dishes and clean-up, leaving things even better than before. It was such a relief not having to deal with any post-party mess. Fun and Professional Team: Chef Marie and her crew were fantastic. They communicated well during the planning, worked smoothly with our bartenders, and added a fun, relaxed vibe to the party. They were not just great at what they do, but also really enjoyable to work with. Overall, Chef Marie’s service blew us away. Her skill, attention to detail, and ability to make everything stress-free made our celebration truly special. If you’re looking for amazing food and top-notch service, I highly recommend her!

First and foremost, we cut our filet with a butter knife. A dull, hardly ridged, butter knife. The knife you use to cut butter, we cut a juice 8oz, beautifully cut, perfectly seasoned and prepared to exactly the requested medium rare, filet. We were mind blown to say the least. I truly couldn’t give Chef Marie enough stars or write enough words in this review; to even give a glimpse of how PERFECT she made our day! From day one of planning to event day, she was OFF THE CHARTS exceeding every single expectation we had for a personal chef! She listened to us, which was more than the other few chefs we spoke with, she gave feedback and even kindly gave recommendations. She was so considerate that this was new to use and we didn’t really even have a clue about hiring a private chef. She walked us through the whole process, what to expect, when, how, what she does, etc!! We ALL were beyond blown away!!When she showed up and she was very fun and we throughly enjoyed her company; yet she was focused on prepping and cooking! This was a surprise birthday meal for a close friend of ours that has never had a chance to celebrate his birthday to do his career. This was the first time ever he was able to properly celebrate and she made it an EPIC and unforgettable birthday. We were so impressed, so thankful, so pleased, so appreciative and loved every single minute of it! We played loud music and stood for the appetizers, which she didn’t mind at all!! She fit in so well, you would’ve thought she was a close friend of ours! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY, did I say HIGHLY, recommend!!!! She will blow your mind with her cooking!!!
