FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In home training pricing varies on the distance I have to travel so when contacting its helpful to send full address for precise quote.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out volunteering at a local shelter where I had an interest in learning how dogs learn so I asked a local trainer if he would be willing to teach me if I paid and brought him shelter dogs to learn on. He liked the idea and that became my first mentorship. Shortly after I was interested in doing personal protection training with my dog Maggie so I found another trainer an hour north of me who was a police k9 instructor and has a great reputation with pet dogs just as with working dogs. I soon then went once again from being a client to a student under this other trainer and got my certification in behavior modification and obedience through him. Since finishing my apprenticeship there I have sought out other experienced dog trainers who have helped me develop my own style of training with both working dogs and pet dogs.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Pet owners with happy go lucky dogs who just needed some basic obedience, owners of dogs with severe fear and anxiety, working dog owners, private security companies, & dog/human aggresive dogs.
