Introduction

Simcha's Basement is a professional recording studio located in Park Ridge in Bergen County, New Jersey, which is not far from Manhattan, but far away from the crowds. A certified engineer is provided for all recording sessions. Callie Corro is the owner and engineer. She received her Bachelors Degree in music composition at Drew University. Afterword, she pursued her interest in the music industry and went to technical school in audio at the Institute of Audio Research, where she became certified in audio engineering. She then interned at John Kilgore Sound & Recording where she gained professional experience. She also works as a full time audio engineer. While offering a reasonable price of $30 per hour, all of our clients and production are taken seriously. The services provided include recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. Whether it be a voiceover, narration, audition, vocal, rap, or band recording, your performance will be captured with the use of high quality gear. I find Callie to be the best. As an aspiring artist it's always good to go to different studios, and i have found Callie to be the best. You kno when someone has dedication to something they love because when there at work they get lost into it. This is exactly what Callie does. She get lost in the sound of the music and she takes every step of making the process down to the micro wave. You gives you honest feedback on how your doing, like if the first takes sound bad she will let you know, I you have to be more lively she will let you know after all it's a team effort. Callie you are the best and best believe when I'm making music I'm coming to your studios front door.

The first time I used Simcha's basement I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I spoke to the owner/engineer over the phone to schedule my session a couple days prior. She seemed very nice over the phone. When I arrived,I was treated with same respect that i received over the phone. The equipment at the studio is of the highest quality. The engineer is super nice and easy to work with; she is extremely knowledgeable. My band and I will continue to use this studio for our future recording needs. I highly recommend Simcha's Basement for anyone, or any band who's looking for high quality audio engineering at a reasonable price.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $25/1hr for recording and mixing. We will discuss an estimate for how long I should work on mixing the project. Depending on the project, the hours mixing will vary. If it's simple it could be 1 to 2 hours. If more complicated it could take 3 to 5 hours. Once I've reached the estimated point I will notify the client and we can discuss what to do from there. If the client is happy with it, then the work is complete. On the other-hand, if the client thinks it needs more work, then we can discuss what the pricing will be from there on. You're business is important and I will work with you regarding pricing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Drew University. I also have a certificate from the Institute of Audio Research in audio engineering. I interned at a studio in NYC and worked as an audio engineer at the company DuArt 5 years.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I went to college at Drew University and received my B.A. in Music Theory and Composition. I went to technical school in audio at the Institute of Audio Research (IAR) in the NYC. I went to IAR with the idea of getting into writing music for film, but at the school I learned their are many different fields one can get into in this industry. At first I worked as an intern in a recording studio in the Film Center building. I currently have five years of audio engineering experience in audiobooks.
