I had an outstanding experience working with James Tapia from Global Housing Contractors on my kitchen renovation. From start to finish, James was incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, and consistently communicative, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. His attention to detail ensured every part of the renovation met high standards, and the final result exceeded my expectations. James also did an excellent job managing the other contractors involved, ensuring that the workflow was organized and no one was ever in each other’s way. His crew was professional, respectful of my home, and made sure to clean up at the end of each day. When there was a minor issue with the cabinets, James proactively followed up with me almost a month later to make the final touches and updates—something that really goes a long way and speaks to his commitment to quality. I especially appreciated how transparent and responsive he was with updates and any questions I had along the way. In fact, I’ll be starting a bathroom renovation in the next few months and won’t hesitate to call James again. See below for before and after pics! I must say, the pictures don’t do it justice.

Had a bathroom remodel. The did a complete gut and Reno in 7 days. They did a great job on the tile work. We selected and purchased all of the tile and fixtures to include the toilet, shower door, vanity, mirror. faucets etc. James does a great job of working you to purchase finishing items you need for a perfect look like the shower door threshold, tile edgers, etc.

If you’re looking for a straight talking, no-nonsense contractor, look no further. From my initial meeting with James, he was professional and took measurements to give me an accurate quote. I ended up having James and his crew do a full remodeling of my Master Bathroom (see before photos where the bathroom was stuck in the early 2000s!) and also a full remodeling of my powder bathroom. He also did some smaller remodeling projects to my other 2 bathrooms (new vinyl flooring, new toilets, etc) and also did my kitchen backsplash. The work was completed on time and he did not charge me a cent over the initial quote I had received. Communication: I couldn’t have asked for a more responsive contractor. James responded via text within the hour (if not sooner). Personally, I preferred to speak with James over the phone or in person as I think tone can be misunderstood over text. However, any issues we ran into were resolved to my satisfaction by James. As with ANY home remodeling project, there will be problems that arise or miscommunication. James was great at explaining what potential issues might arise and helping me decide how to proceed. For example, in my master bathroom, I wanted to keep the mirror but my new vanity would overlap with the mirror. James thought of a creative solution to cut the mirror and it worked. Now, no review would be honest if I didn’t disclose any “problems”. In my basement bathroom, the old vanity was removed and a new one put in. James was honest in flagging that one of his guys hadn’t patched the large holes in the wall before installing the new vanity. He assured me that the holes would be fixed and it was promptly corrected. Unfortunately some of the holes couldn’t be fully reached because the new vanity was in the way. I wish the holes had been patched before the new vanity was installed as that would’ve been the proper method. But, having been a manager before, I understand these things happen and at least it’s not too visible. Tips if you decide to hire James: - Treat him with respect and he will do the same. - Make sure your contract clearly describes everything that is verbally agreed. James is great but he’s working so many projects that he could forget small details. It was always easiest for me to reference the contract as that avoided any misunderstanding. - Visit the work site frequently to make sure you’re happy with the progress. It’s much harder to fix or change something before something is installed. James is more than willing to address any problems if you can find it. In summary: I LOVE my new master bathroom. I feel like I’m at a luxury hotel when I’m in there. I will 100% be using James as my contractor for all future projects. I’ve already referred a few friends to him too. My powder room also looks amazing and every guest that uses it compliments the design. Good luck James and we’ll be in touch!

I had contacted James from Global Housing about a kitchen remodel and a new addition to our house. From the start and through the whole process James was extremely professional and responsive. He was easy to work with and revised the contract more than once to include ALL of the important details of the project. He was very good at explaining how things work. In the end, we did not end up hiring Global Housing for this project because we felt the amount of the initial deposit made us uncomfortable at such an uncertain time (at the start of the shutdown for the pandemic). James was very upfront about how all the money would be allocated and a complete professional. We did, however, call him when our downstairs half bath was flooded by the bath above. Himself, and another member of his team came the same day cleaned it up and repaired it right away and even called a few days later to check in. Overall we got a good impression and may use Global Housing on a project in the future.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on complexity of the project, man hours or labor and material if they are included. Most of the time, in order for clients to save money or have flexibility, we advise them, if they prefer, to buy their own materials. That way they can shop around, bargain and use a credit card if they choose to.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost I listen....I do not talk about me and how wonderful I am and how me me me me.... Is the client's point of view that it matters and is their show. I'm there to listen and help our clients make their ideas a reality and always stay on budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I personally have a degree in Mechanical Drawing/Architectural Drafting. Which it has help me in the home building process. I have also worked as a Financial Advisor for a Major Financial Company. The experience of doing complete rehabbing of homes have given me the expertise of design and color coordination.
