Introduction
I take the time necessary to get to know my couples in order to familiarize myself with them and their story. This helps me to personalize their ceremony and help them to have the wedding that they had dreamed of. Seeing the beautiful smiles on the faces of my couples as they go through this major life event. Seeing the joy in their eyes, and feeling the love in their hearts. When the ceremony is done, my job may be complete, but their memories will last a lifetime . . . and I was privileged to help them to make those lasting memories.

Marty Angstreich is the best officiant in New Jersey. He officiated my brother and sister in laws wedding. Now, he officiated my wedding. All of our family and friends said that our wedding was made so special because of the words Marty spoke during our ceremony. Marty had a beautiful way of incorporating all cultures in the ceremony and truly sharing our love story. He was organized and went well ABOVE and beyond! Marty made sure everything was perfect for our Friday night rehearsal and then the actual wedding on Saturday. He made sure we had everything we needed weeks before so that the weekend would run smoothly. I've known Marty for practically my lifetime, but what was so special was the way that people who just just met him on our wedding day told us how incredible, kind, caring, and what a wonderful speaker he truly is. Thank you, Marty for everything you did to make our wedding so special! We are so grateful for you!

What Marty said at our wedding was absolutely perfect, it wasn’t generic, it was made specifically for us, about our relationship, with all the added love. He has the highest recommendation I could give.

Marty married my husband and I on May 17, 2015. There are no words to describe the absolute perfection that Marty brought to our wedding day. His ceremony had a perfect combination of love, laughter and had every detail we asked for! We could not imagine going with anyone else on our special day! Thank you so much Marty for marrying us!! We love you!

Marty performed a vow renewal ceremony for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It was a small ceremony for our immediate family. He combined a lot of tradition and a little humor to make a warm and touching ceremony. Marty made their 50th wedding anniversary that much more special!

FAQs

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Recently I performed a same-sex marriage for two gentlemen who had been together for nearly thirty years but could never make that long-term relationship legal. I sat with them, went over everything involved in planning a wedding ceremony, from who walks when and with whom, to advising them on creating their vows, to providing suggestions small, elegant touches that we can work into their ceremony. I listened to what they liked, what they didn't like, and what they were unsure of, and then took the time to work through all aspects from start to finish. When they presented to me their concern that, although this was a gay marriage, they didn't want anything that could be deemed distasteful or was unnecessary to call this out as a "gay" marriage. I understood their concerns, made some suggestions and on their big day, they (and their family and friends witnessing the ceremony) could not be happier. I've officiated over a number of weddings, but to see the joy on their faces when I pronounced them "legally wed" was just so incredibly heart-warming as no one in that room ever thought we'd get to that day in the first place.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Hiring an officiant to perform your wedding ceremony isn't like hiring a plumber to fix your sink. Your decision should not be based solely on the price that I or one of my fellow officiants provide in our quote to you on Thumbtack. Please take the time to read testimonials, look at the pics we post . . . don't be afraid to ask questions. I fact, I highly encourage it! Your wedding is YOUR BIG DAY. It's a day that takes months or even years to plan from the way you get engaged to picking the date and the venue to hiring your band/DJ, florist, your officiant. This is a process that may seemingly take forever but goes by in an instant, and then all you have left are the memories. Take the time to make the right decision as to who will be standing up there with you and your intended on your wedding day. Do you want someone who was the cheapest of all the quotes, or do you want someone who will take the time to work with you to ensure that your wedding ceremony - the most important part of your wedding day - is everything you ever dreamed of and more. My advice: In my heart I believe THAT is the officiant you hire.
