Dan's Cello Music

Dan Oliver is a cellist based in the Denver Metro Area. He is formerly with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, one of the nation’s leading youth symphonies. Oliver is a freelancing musician with several years of performing experience and can often be seen playing at promotions, parties, churches, and other events. He also maintains an active private studio of numerous students, and in addition holds a cello teaching position at Music@Mainstreet. Oliver was the former member/principal cello of the Brevard Concert Orchestra under conductors Keith Lockhart and Ken Lam for their 2016 and 2017 seasons, residing and studying at the Brevard Classical Music Festival. He previously studied with Franklin Pond Chamber Music in Atlanta, studying under and performing alongside members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Formerly a frequent participant in Allstate and Western States Orchestra festivals, Oliver finished in the top 2 in the recent Loveland Concerto competition. Oliver has studied cello under several prominent musicians, including the following: Silver Ainomäe, Jonathan Spitz, Gal Faganel, Richard Slavich, as well as others. He has performed in masterclasses for David Coucheron, the Shanghai Quartet, Johannes Moser, Hai-Ye Ni, Camille Thomas, Eric Bartlett, as well as others. My highlights of my work are rare but precious in their own way: The great moments in a composition, studying under wise mentors, watching a student's eyes light up - these are the moments musicians live for.
