Although I finally ended up with a functioning hybrid electric water heater, I would like to comment on the service that was received. After my leaking 15 yr old GE water heater finally died, I purchased my own replacement Rheem water heater. I scheduled an appointment window from 11am - 1pm on a Saturday (Labor Day weekend knowing that they would be closed on the actual holiday). Expecting to receive a call that Saturday morning confirming that the installer would be on the way, I decided to contact the dispatcher at 12:30pm to find out what time I should expect the installer. To my surprise and disappointment, the dispatcher didn’t know about my appointment even though I had been in contact over messenger the previous day sharing pictures of the current and new unit. He called me back to let me know that the installer had to leave early that day due to illness. I had him escalate the issue. I received a call back from the owner of the company who advised that he would get someone on it and out to me ASAP. He assured me that he was going to load the installers van with what he thought might be needed. The installer finally shows up at 3:30pm. When evaluates what is needed, he quickly tellls me that he does not have copper and PVC pipes, fittings, and elbows to use for the water supply and emergency drainage. I had to go to Home Depot to purchase an additional $145 worth of materials. This after being reassured by the salesperson that all I needed to provide was the replacement heater and expansion tank. After a few back and forth trips to Home Depot, I was able to get the installer what he needed. The removal of the old unit was quick but the install of the new unit was complex and the installer and his assistant ran into an issue where the lead line was leaking. They decided that in order to correct the issue, they needed to remove the expansion tank and reanchor it in order to stop the leak. Upon removal water went everywhere…the installer and his assistant got soaked! This also led to the leak sensor on the unit being triggered because it also got soaked. They finally got everything installed and they left my house around 10pm that evening. It took an entire week of overriding the sensor error every night before the sensor was dry. The reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was due to the nice installer and his assistant. Although they had a mishap with the expansion tank, if they would have been prepared properly for the install job, we may have avoided the mishap with the leaking expansion tank.

I scheduled an appointment with UniProAir and the technician was a no-show. I called UniPro, who weren’t even aware about the situation. I ended up speaking with Alex, who was apologetic and scheduled me for the following week. The same issue occurred again, with no technician showing up. Do not waste your time with UniPro. They are completely unreliable.
