Teaching English is my passion! I am a native English speaker and a certified ESL teacher with 10 years teaching experience. I've taught ESL overseas in Spain, Colombia and in the U.S. I also taught college-level Expository Writing to international students at Rutgers University in NJ. Dawn is the best teacher I have ever met. She is experienced and passionate about working with students. She is organized, listens, patient, responsive, and well prepared for the class. She has created a customized plan for helping me to improve my language skills both personally and professionally. After starting with Dawn I improved my communication skills. Dawn is a great teacher, she uses a variety of strategies to help students get the most out of her classes. She is patient, kind and extremely professional, always looking for the best for her students. Dawn is versatile and even though she is Native American she can speak perfect Spanish. She understands diversity and always makes her students feel comfortable. Before she became my teacher I had a hard time finding a teacher that would fit my learning style. She is the best English teacher I have ever had.

Dawn is always positive and makes her classes fun. I couldn't believe how I went all the way from not knowing much English or English grammar to speaking English more comfortably. I really appreciated how she tailored her instruction to fit exactly where I was. She also helped me improve my accent and fewer people are asking me to repeat myself!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will have a consultation where I discern your English level. I discuss how I run my classes according to your level and you, as my new student, can explain you needs and why you want to learn English.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 10 years of ESL teaching experience. I received my ESL teaching certificate in Barcelona, Spain where I taught English to adults and children for 5 years. In the U.S., I managed ESL programs as well as taught ESL in non profit and high schools in N.J. as well as taught Expository English to international students at Rutgers University.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started in this work by obtaining my teaching certificate abroad.
