Introduction

I am a tutor in Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies. Working with students in K-8 is my passion. Making sure that I am aware of any changes, and that I am knowledgable of the standards at each grade level is priority. I provide students with practice assignments to enhance their knowledge of the subject areas. I also work with students on homework assignments and areas that they find to be challenging in class. My method is to work through the assignments with them. If the work is challenging, incorporating different strategies and mnemonic devices usually helps students gain a better understanding. I have been a middle school Math teacher for many years. It is a joy to interact with my students during the learning process and to observe their growth and development. My experience makes me very knowledgeable in these areas. I enjoy working with students. My interaction with them helps to build their confidence. Their knowledge of the subject matter improves dramatically after each session. As a result their grades improve .

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hourly rate $60 A discount of $5 is applicable if there are multiple children or multiple hours
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My personal introduction and experience is reviewed. I allow the parent to introduce himself/herself and the student. I asked the parent to give an overview of the student grade level and the student's progress. I am interested in knowing the parent's expectations and his/her goals for the student. What does the parent expect to be accomplished during each session? I give an assessment on the student's grade level. This gives me an idea of the areas I need to reinforce
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and MA in Education. I have numerous hours of training by the school district where I am employed .
