As a vocal instructor and piano instructor with more than 20 years of professional performance and teaching experience, I coach vocalists from beginners to established artists and teach stage performances to help further develop artists' professional sound and presentation. Complete music services such as songwriting, lyrics, pre/post-production, recording, mixing, and mastering are available in all styles of radio-friendly music. Musicians, singer-songwriters, artists, aspiring artists, spoken word narratives, and voice-overs can walk in with or without material or a concept and walk out with great-sounding music recordings and original complete songs, tracks, or beats. Whether you're a musician or need a band, work and collaborate comfortably and achieve your best-sounding music using live instrumentation (musicians-provided) and various media, including MIDI and audio samples. David with Posterity Studio coached my son (17yrs) with private voice lessons and the growth he acheived vocally was incredible. The lessons were done via video chat and it was such a blessing to have access to someone as talented as David from our small town in Idaho. Immediately my son achieved greater range, more voice control and increased confidence because David helped him discover and develop a style that's unique to him. I've been working with David for almost a year now and I am very pleased with the progress I have made. I've always enjoyed singing but probably a little more than those who were within earshot. Not that I was way off key or anything like that, there just wasn't any worthwhile consistency to my tone or technique. And I didn't really know how to get better thus I kept doing more of the same that got me to where I stuck. Fully frustrated, I finally made the call and from my first session with David things improved. Right away David began to recognize my strengths and weaknesses as a vocalist, and to his credit and my pleasure, he focused first on what I was doing right. To this day he's never directly criticized anything about my singing, but has always been willing to work from where I am on any given day. We start 11 AM and sometimes I've got terrible morning voice. By backing up a bit and suggesting some simple exercises (which he works through with me), David has helped bring about very productive sessions when I thought there was no chance. On the other hand, when my voice and spirit are strong he's found ways to accommodate and challenge me that have proved quite satisfying and inspiring. When I perform I typically sing between 20 and 30 songs (Rock, R&B and Blues). Before working with David I would be almost voiceless by the end of the night. Of late I find that I am as strong and capable on the last song as I was on the first. I also have a much greater sense of vocal freedom in my phrasing and dynamics, and I rarely have voice issues the day after. I'm sure it's from practicing the right things combined with an improved knowledge of my sound-producing anatomy (part of our regular side discussions). As far as song selection goes, David has been open to all of my choices while suggesting several tunes that are aimed at improving particular aspects of my singing. I never expected to find joy in singing a Josh Grobin song...but I do now. I am not yet the vocalist I've always wanted to be, but I am much closer to that ideal than ever before. This is in no small part due to my work with David and the effects of his teaching approach on my musicianship. Wish I had done this way sooner!!!

David is an amazing teacher! The was he teaches vocal technique/lesson is fun and simple, but their results are great. Just being with him for 2 months, I've already improved tremendously!

What types of customers have you worked with?
The common types of jobs I do for my clients involve vocal performance instruction and recording and music production. I also teach musicianship with piano instrument instruction. I coach professional artists and vocalists teaching techniques (larynx position, breathe support, open sound, relaxed jaw etc...) that contribute to singing well and to better live and recorded performances. I also provide full studio music services like composing, arranging, writing, recording, editing, and mixing. Most times a client needs help with the direction of their project including song production, music arrangement, vocal and instrument performance. Throughout the project, starting with pre-production and ending with mixing (and mastering), I meet with artists, listen to their ideas and assess their production needs. When needed I help create a project concept (music genre ideas among other things) based on the artists vision and musical direction. All of this helps to ensure the clients involvement throughout the production process and leads to a successful music project.
