Hi and congratulations! I saw your request...the answer is yes! From the simple backyard gathering to the full religious service with readings and homily, we can make this ceremony yours. Just as you pick out the setting. the menu, the colors....why not have a customized ceremony? This is your day and it should reflect your personalities and tone. Whether you envision a very traditional ceremony or a casual affair, I will customize a service that will be both comfortable and personal. I design a ceremony, using what readings/poems you wish, adding symbolic traditions such as unity candle, sand sculptures, handfasting, or other family traditions that bring meaning to your special day. Heard or saw something you want to include? Ask, and I will be happy to include it. A copy of the service is given to you when it's over. That ceremony, written especially for you, is yours alone. We can’t say enough good things about Weddings your Way!!! Barbara was beyond nice, professional and very experienced. She answered every question I had and responded to every text and phone call promptly. She put together a beautiful ceremony for us! She arrived early, and made the marriage license part of things so simple, it was one thing I did not have to worry about on a very hectic day! She was professional and responsive and I am so glad we chose her to be our officiant for our wedding! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional and affordable officiant!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Barbara! She made our event FUN... Barbara stayed in touch and kept us in the loop about everything, from beginning to end! Even when we changed our date she worked with us. I love the vows she wrote. They were personalized to "our" taste and not just the traditional "I do's." Thank you for being so easy-going Barbara... Pastor Barbara did a great job executing our ceremony on Sunday. We rewrote a lot of the ceremony script after getting some ideas from various resources online, and she was OK with it! We added a "jar of life" lesson (twist on sand ceremony), mini opening meditation lead by a friend, and the Art of Marriage reading by my now-husband's uncle, a mini singing duet, in addition to a bubble send-off. It was the perfect mix of spiritual with a hint of religious. We also had a few pre-marital sessions with Barbara, which helped us work on our communication and get comfortable with her as well before the wedding. We also appreciate that her price was reasonable compared to other officiants, and she was so flexible. She spoke with the perfect done during the ceremony and covered everything, even though we made unique changes down to the wire. We definitely recommend her! Thanks again Barbara! :)

It was a pleasure having Barbara officiate our wedding. She made herself available to discuss details of the wedding and seemed genuinely interested in learning about myself and my husband. She arrived early the day of the wedding and took time to meet with my husband, which helped to calm his nerves lol. I would recommend her services to anyone in need of an officiant.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe that the officiant's work is important, but the price should not be so much that it is prohibitive. You are never charged extra -- I estimate my price from the time spent researching and writing your ceremony, and the distance/tolls to travel. Signing forms, rehearsals, etc are all part of the quote.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with someone in person or on the phone get to know them a little better and what they want in the ceremony. I then draft up a service and the couple approves it. I can help with organizing the wedding party at the rehearsal, or offer other resources as needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ordained minister for the past 12 years, double major in Philosophy/Religion and Psychology; PhD in Clinical Psychology.
