Mike and Ajay’s Construction started out by designing and building a farmer’s porch at my house. From there we began helping neighbors with their home projects that asked us for help. Mike is a great guy. He came and did an outstanding job fixing the walls in our kitchen for the cabinets to go up. During a cold weekend we had a pipe burst in our garage. Mike was quick to respond on the weekend and come review our problem in a timely manner. He was extremely knowledgeable on the topic and gave us clear laid out options for repair. He was timely to complete the repair and supported questions throughout the process. Great to work with. They understood what we wanted to accomplish and made it happen. Since the project was an old house it sometimes took some creativity to get what we were looking for, but Mike found lots of good solutions and the final results were above our expectations. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For small jobs, I charge by the hour. For jobs that are more than 40 hours, I offer a fixed price estimate or charge by the hour. I also offer 10% discounts to senior citizens and low-income families.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to evaluate the effort on site, and determine if an estimate or charge by the hour is applicable dependent on job size and level of ambiguity.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ajay is a licensed union carpenter and I have worked home projects as a landlord and home owner for over 30 years.
