- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a divorced widow I had to become self sufficient for myself and my son. I had taken a job as a cleaner for a property management company that included a discount on an apartment. I found out on my first day cleaning for the management company that there was absolutely zero compassion for the paying tenants in the apartment complex. When I was asked to not clean years of dirt from the window sills and not to clean the outside of windows on move in ready apartments I knew I had to correct that situation even if it meant getting fired. A few weeks later my boss threatened to fire me for speaking out about the cleanliness of the apartment complex and I told her I wouldn’t give her the courtesy to do that! The next day I registered my business and my first customer was a professional ball player who also gave me my first 5 star review!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A client who is a very busy business owner with two children and a rambunctious rescue dog had a problem with urine smells in his home. We came in and deep cleaned his hard surface and carpet floors. No shampooing. He was thrilled when we showed him how to keep his home smelling fresh and clean.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Consider what results you are looking for and how much time you can set aside to have the job completed before you start your search.
