Savannah is a passionate educator with a profound dedication to music education. She began her teaching career as a student teacher in a Classroom Educational Teacher Preparation Program at her high school. In this role, she was instrumental in managing and instructing middle school band students, devising age-appropriate lesson plans, conducting bands, and evaluating student performance. Savannah's subsequent experiences as a marching band technician for high schools around Michigan and Ohio allowed her to further refine her teaching techniques and deepen her understanding of student needs, and jumpstarted her passion for teaching.
Her teaching philosophy is anchored in the belief that every student has a unique musical journey and she takes immense pride in crafting individualized curricula to guide each of her students on their paths. Savannah's ability to foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment has empowered numerous students to surpass their potential, further solidifying her reputation as an esteemed music educator.
Savannah's principal flute mentors include Diana Morgan, renowned former piccolo player in the San Diego Symphony; Jeffrey Zook, distinguished orchestral and solo flutist; and Jacqueline Fornari, an esteemed performer and instructor. The wisdom and guidance she received from these notable musicians have greatly influenced her artistic development. Savannah has also enriched her musicianship by participating in masterclasses with eminent artists such as Marianne Gedigian, Trudy Kane, Christina Jennings, Gareth Davies, Rose Lombardo, Sarah Jackson, and Jeffrey Barker.
In 2023, Savannah received her Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Bowling Green State University. This period of formal education refined her performance skills and deepened her understanding of music, equipping her with the knowledge and experience to excel in her musical journey.
Away from her flute, Savannah possesses a wide array of personal interests. She cherishes her two beloved cats, Milo and Frankie, and enjoys immersing herself in complex puzzles. Savannah is a coffee enthusiast, often taking pleasure in savoring a variety of blends and roasts. Her love for comedy is often satiated by her favorite show, 'The Office'. As an automotive enthusiast, Savannah relishes attending drift events and car shows, demonstrating her diverse interests and her zest for life.
