- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education and training in the field of home improvement have been self-directed and hands-on over the past two decades. I am a self-taught handyman, having delved into various home improvement projects to gain practical experience and knowledge. I excel as a fast learner with a keen attention to detail, ensuring that I swiftly grasp new concepts allowing me to complete jobs thoroughly and with precision. I've honed my skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general home repairs. In addition to my hands-on experience, my role as a real estate broker has provided me with a unique perspective on property value, market trends, and the specific needs that homeowners and property investors may have. This dual role has allowed me to understand the practical aspects of home improvement not only from a functional standpoint but also from a perspective that considers the impact of renovations on property values and marketability. I continuously stay informed about industry advancements, building codes, and best practices through self-directed learning, industry publications, and networking with other professionals. My commitment to ongoing education ensures that I stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in both home improvement and real estate. While I may not possess formal academic credentials, my extensive hands-on experience and multifaceted background as a handyman and real estate broker contribute to a well-rounded skill set that enables me to provide comprehensive and valuable services to my clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Many times, a new home improvement customer is a real estate client that I am working with to sell their property or a client that is buying a property. As I take on solely home improvement clients, I am able to share my knowledge of value-improving projects, guiding them towards enhancements that not only elevate their living spaces but also contribute positively to the long-term value and appeal of their properties. Since my childhood, I was involved in various home improvement projects, including helping my dad in the construction of our log home in 1992. This upbringing instilled a strong work ethic and a fearless approach to embracing new challenges. Over the years, I’ve consistently enhanced the homes I’ve owned, focusing on value addition and modernization. Completing projects brings me immense pride, and I’m dedicated to perfecting the details and ensuring each job is executed with precision.
