I gave Harold a serving tray to use as an example of the stain color I was looking for. Because of the wood grain in the tray, it had shades of darker and lighter stain, so he emailed me prior to his starting work asking which color of the serving tray I preferred (shows his attention to detail). He later showed me photos of the various stains he tried before finding the right one, which I attribute to his level of care for what his customer was looking for. What he returned to me matched the color of the tray, showed off the grain of the wood and completely changed the look of the tables altogether. He was so careful to set the tables down gently on wood flooring, not with a thud, and took a moment to adjust the leg height of the end-table so it didn't wobble.
