- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My base fee is hourly specific to the job type. I have a 1 hour minimum and then bill in half hour increments afterwards. if I have to purchase materials, I charge 10% of the value of the materials to cover the cost of my time. For repeat customers, I have even been known to work for a glass of iced tea and good conversation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by thoroughly listening to what the customer wants and what they expect. I then assess the job to determine a course of action to accommodate their wishes. I discuss the plan and then execute that plan when we are in agreement.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up in rural NC where service professionals were scarce. At an early age I was learning basic plumbing and electrical repair out of necessity. Over time, I expanded my skillset to respond to what the market was offering. I continue to follow the plan of identifying a need and then learning how to address it.
