FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Just to clarify my rates as they are different for CUSTOM WORK and HANDYMAN WORK. FOR CUSTOM BUILDS: Quotes are provided ahead of time for a fee. If the customer does then choose me as their builder, the quote fee is deducted from the final cost of the project. FOR PICTURE HANGING WORK: I charge $50/hour for picture hanging work. I provide all hanging hardware needed, and unless previously discussed will not charge you for any hardware required. FOR HANDYMAN WORK: I charge $75 for the first hour, & then $50/hr after that. Any extra materials or hardware that is needed I can purchase, though it would be made up by you in the final cost of the project as well. (RECEIPTS WILL BE PROVIDED) I do not work off of estimations or quotes for handyman work. Unforeseen problems can arise so its just easier and more beneficial for you and I to work on an hourly basis. I can give an EDUCATED GUESS as to how long a job will take and calculate my hourly costs for you. I just find it is easier and more beneficial to both parties involved this way.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to talk to the customer over the phone, this allows for easier and clearer communication about the project. Any pictures that can be provided is especially helpful, as I typically do not have time to do an on-site estimate
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do not have any formal education in handyman or custom building. I did go to college to become an Architect and that is were I received the bulk of my design education. Everything else was either born of love for the craft, or the necessity to fix/replace broken things.
