Hello! My name is David Lopez, and I live and work in Eden, NC - but depending on the timing, will travel to Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Burlington, and many of the surrounding areas in between. I will also travel to Viriginia, mostly Martinsville and Danville. Some distances may incur a travel fee that would be discussed prior to the appointment.
PROJECTS & PRICING
Because I work alone, I am limited in scope and scale for projects. Depending on your needs and timing, I am happy to assist in whatever ways I can, and I will be up front if your request is not something I typically do, or something I would not feel confident completing. I know what I'm capable of, I can tell you what similar projects I've done in the past, and I believe that honesty is a necessary foundation for any professional relationship.
My pricing estimates are always custom, based on the scope, complexities, and time involved for the project. To give a proper price, I will need to see the space/location (in person or via video or by photos) and talk through the project, your needs, and what your goals are. Additional materials or speciality items are not included in the pricing. I am happy to purchase items that you would like installed, but will require payment for the items up front. Discounts apply to repeat customers or multi-device installations.
EXPERTISE
The project that I have the most experience with, by far, is television mount installs, and over the last 3 years, I have installed over 200 displays for private residences, hospitals, commercial properties, and retail spaces. I have done micro-LED panel work and assisted with a 200 ft. 8k display. I have worked with borderless displays that when lined up side by side form a perfect banner. And I can even troubeshoot and fix a display, though this cannot always be guranteed. For installs, I have worked with drywall, brick, or wood, with metal or wooden studs, and can provide recommendations for whatever space you're thinking. I can also offer discounts quoted for multiple displays done at the same location. My customers typically provide their own equipment, but I also carry some mounts as inventory depending on your preferences. I am happy to quote you an estimate, and pictures of your space help me better understand what you would like done!
MY HISTORY
In May 2024, I relocated to Eden, North Carolina from Lincoln, Nebraska for work. During the week and most days, I work full-time as a safety professional at a manufacturing plant, and on the weekends and during the evenings, I assist people with small projects such as mounting televisions or hanging artwork, home repairs or improvements, furniture assemblies or other types of installs, and general handyman jobs.
My handyman business was started several years ago in Kansas City, Missouri, where the large metro allowed my side hustle to develop very quickly into a self-supporting endeavor, but once covid happened, finding and completing work became increasingly more complicated and unpredictable. To establish more consistent finances, I contracted with a company that exclusively worked with commercial spaces and had a lot of technical installations. Additionally, I started my career in safety and have really enjoyed having a job that focuses on preserving and improving the health and wellbeing of other people.
My goal is to leave any environment I enter, better than how I found it. I focus on efficient, functional solutions for your home, whether that's an alarm system, smart home device, networking components, or other technology, setup and install mean nothing if operations can't be explained or communicated in simple, user friendly ways. I enjoy being able to teach others about new tech and share my passion about new gadgets. It's fun to be able to meet with new customers, hear about their goals, learn what they want to change or improve within their home, and guide them through selecting the best options to meet their needs and best add value.
