Attention customer: due to the 'pay per lead' model used by Thumbtack, I ask that you only contact me if you intend to hire me. Example: if you contact 4 people ('just shopping around') then 3 of those people lost money talking to you. Look at reputation, pre-set pricing, etc. and pick one contractor.
Glass & Moore offers home improvement services in multiple categories:
- Mounting: TVs, curtain rods, art installations, shelving, etc.
- Fans & lighting: adding electrical fixtures to existing outlets
- Furniture assembly: IKEA, Wayfair and other brands; these are delivered as kits to be assembled by homeowners
- Window cleaning
- Light interior painting
Each service is outlined below:
Mounting:
Beginning in June 2019 I began to wall mount TVs for TaskRabbit. As of this point in July, 2020 I've performed well over 180 TV mounting jobs, with excellent reviews. I now carry a comprehensive assortment of lag bolts and strap toggles to work with the wide variety of TV sizes and weights, and the various common mounting brackets that people buy from Home Depot, Amazon, etc.
Furniture Assembly:
Also beginning in June of 2019 I started furniture assembly. For the Charlotte, NC market that means IKEA almost exclusively. I've had over 120 furniture assembly jobs with TaskRabbit, and around 20 for Wayfair. By now I have assembled most of the common IKEA dresser models, PAX wardrobes, Sektion hanging cabinets, 3 or 4 different bed models, childrens bunk beds and desk combos, entertainment units and bookshelves, etc. I have photographs of most of these builds. I am now completely familiar with the 'cam-lock' assembly method, and have all tools for this type of work.
Fans & Lighting:
I built up to this category after several months of mounting TVs and building furniture. I'm always diligent to read the directions provided with each kit; if these are not matching what I'm seeing in the house wiring, I check multiple YouTube videos (there are many 'home improvement' channels with abundant information on hundreds of repair topics). Swapping fixtures at an existing terminal does not require an electrician, just some basic knowledge and tools and good practices like shutting down the circuit breaker, turning off related wall switches, and voltmeter testing before touching the wiring. Putting up ceiling fans is actually very well laid out in most manufacturer's instructions; the procedures and wiring diagrams are straightforward and sequential.
Window Cleaning:
With over 4 years of window cleaning experience, I am the person to call for:
- residential
- offices
- storefronts
- restaurants
- construction cleanup
I have the traditional window cleaning tools [Ettore brass squeegees and handles, twist-lock poles, glass scrapers, etc.] and methods for single-level interior and exterior work. I can also do pole work up to 20', which allows for most 2 story structures to be cleaned.
