Introduction

Organ students: please inquire using Piano Lessons! Some of the most mystical, connected, ineffable moments of my life happened because music was happening in and around me. We study it, we create it, but we really don’t understand the cosmic nature of music and how it can change us. It can facilitate healing in bodies and brains. It can dissolve fear. It can cause people to want to take action together. Music lessons are a journey of physical and spiritual awareness whether you ever choose to perform for other people or not. The studio is a place where you come to discover how music fits into your self and your life. I love helping people experience music as a powerful personal and interpersonal process. I love seeing the next generation grow and better our world. I love seeing adults begin something they have longed to do their whole lives. I have been teaching piano, organ, and music theory since 2009. I have worked with ages 3 to 75, with kids, youth, and adults with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, cerebral palsy, selective mutism, substance challenges, and those recovering from strokes. I have worked with professional teachers, mediators, and bank managers, as well as with college-degree-seeking music students, middle- and high-schoolers, and children.

Ive been taking online organ lessons with Ms. Potratz for almost 2 yrs and have been very pleased with the progress we have made. I am an adult learner with a high school piano background. I accompany at a small church so we work on hymns, hymn variations as well as classical pieces for prelude and postlude. Her teaching has been invaluable to my progress as an organist. She is consistent and very in tune with my goals.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
30 minute lesson ~ $32 45 minute lesson ~ $48 60 minute lesson ~ $64 Start by booking a single lesson. If we decide to go forward, students pay monthly tuition at the beginning of the month by Zelle, Paypal, or Venmo. You can cancel a lesson up to 24 hours in advance to keep that lesson credit in the bank. With less than 24 hours notice, a lesson is lost.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If you have read my profile and think we might be a good fit, I recommend booking just one lesson so we can meet and see what the road ahead might look like!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Music and Musicology from Sorbonne Université (2012), as well as a professional diploma (French DEM) in organ from the conservatory in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (France). My Bachelors degree is from Valparaiso University (Indiana) in organ performance with a minor in studio art.
