FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to keep my lessons affordable for families, my rates are: $30.00 for 30 minute lessons. $45.00 for 45 minute lessons. $60.00 for 60 minute lessons. I also offer a free, 30 minute trial lesson to see if the student and I will be a good fit for each other.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For my students, I love to get to playing behind the drums as soon as possible. First, we’ll build good habits when it comes to stick control, counting along to music, and learning to play essential rhythms in time to a metronome. From there, I always ask students what kind of music they like. Whether it's rock, hip hop, or jazz, we can use the fundamentals we're learning to work toward the goal of playing along with music, which is a core part of our lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been formally taught by jazz drummers for close to twelve years. As a teenager, I studied under jazz instructors like Jerad Lippi and Matt Greene outside of New York City. Following this experience, I studied under Serge Volpe in New York, to further my playing experience with jazz, gospel, and world music. The, I studied under Jeff Salisbury at the University of Vermont, specializing in rock and blues drumming. Following this, I studied under Quentin Baxter in Charleston, SC, to continue my playing in jazz. All the while, I have been a gigging musician, playing in bands from all idioms of music.
