FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We always start with an in-home consultation. Firstly, the consultation is completely free! I'll meet you at your home, where I can meet you and your pup and we can discuss your training goals. Then if you choose to stay with me as your trainer I will create a program specifically tailored to fit you and your pups needs!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained and certified through the Starmark Animal Behavioral Center in Austin Tx as a Professional Dog Trainer and Behavior Specialist. The program they offer is a very intensive five days a week, 8 hours a day training experience! I opted for their specialist program so I was with them for three full months, living on their campus and learning everything about the canine industry. I am also certified as a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through the American Kennel Club and am certified as a Service Dog Evaluator through the ADA.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In the years before my official certification through Starmark I worked for the ADA training service dogs for disabled veterans and working at multiple board and train facilities. In my off time my favorite thing to do was volunteer training dogs at shelters to make their chances of adoption sky rocket. I've loved dogs my whole life and I can't believe how lucky I am to have found this career!
