FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When working with a client, the typical procedure for billing and payments is as follows: once a "napkin sketch" design is decided upon and a ballpark price is communicated, a $500 initial deposit is due to lock the clients' place in line. A quote is then put together for the job and 50% of the total is due prior to the start of the build. Once the job is completed and prior to delivery, the remaining 50% (minus the initial $500) is due.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All the work that I do hinges upon the concept of home and what that looks like for the client. Upon initial consult, I will have a conversation with the client to hear about all inspiration and ideas they may have. The next step, and it is an important one, is I have the client send me a few ideas of the things in their home that truly make them feel at home. I always say that it these could be anything from a framed picture to a frying pan to an old pair of shoes. It doesn't necessarily matter what it is but that it fully feels like home. Once all this information is gathered, I start sketching to get ideas out and go back and forth with the customer through iterations of design until we land on exactly what they are wanting. Once this is decided upon and after the initial deposit, I will typically create a 3D computer rendering for the client to see and get a clear and accurate picture of what the piece will look like. Once approved, construction begins and before long they are the proud new owner of a beautiful piece of furniture to be enjoyed for generations.
