Introduction
Having served the Parker and Highlands Ranch, Colorado and surrounding communities for the past 30 years, High Range Piano, Inc. is excited to announce it's new home in the Cary, North Carolina area. High Range Piano will continue to offer a comprehensive program of piano instruction for students ages 7-99 and for all levels of studies, from beginner through advanced. We welcome both children and adult beginners with no previous music training! Lessons include a combination of music theory, technique, repertoire, and music history. As well, students are invited to attend studio performance classes and an annual studio recital and will have the opportunity to participate in both non-competitive and competitive events offered through the North Carolina State Music Teachers Association, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and other events made available through the local school music programs. Dr. Stephen Fiess, a native of Stratford, Ontario, Canada, holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Music degree in piano performance from Indiana University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance, pedagogy, and literature from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He also holds an associate diploma in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and associate certification in organ from the American Guild of Organists. His interest in the piano music of Prokofiev led to a book on this subject, The Piano Works of Serge Prokofiev, published in 1994 by Scarecrow Press. Dr. Fiess was a prize winner in the Ernst Krenek Division of the 1989 Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition. Dr. Fiess has composed ballets that have been performed in Colorado and a ballet that was performed at the International Dance Festival of Havana, Cuba. He has composed several published piano solos and duets. He has also written several published sacred compositions. Dr. Fiess is actively involved in church music, and teaches piano privately in the Cary, North Carolina area (a suburb of Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina). Mr. Neal Wegener, a native of Denver, Colorado, holds a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree from Phillips University, as well as additional studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, the University of Colorado, and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Mr. Wegener has served as Director of Music at churches in New Jersey, Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Mr. Wegener has also served as a Vice- President of the Colorado State Music Teachers Association, Vice- President of the Colorado chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and as Convocation Chair for the Denver Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Dr. Fiess and Mr. Wegener are both Nationally Certified by Music Teachers National Association and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!

I highly recommend High Range Piano! They are kind, patient, flexible and offer more than just a piano lesson for you or your child. I have been very impressed with how Dr. Fiess and Mr. Wegener care so much about each student and do everything they can to ensure progress, and a fulfilling experience in musical achievement! I feel they go above and beyond your typical piano lesson and I highly recommend them!

We have two boys receiving lessons from High Range Piano, Inc. We have been very impressed with both teachers, Dr. Steven Feiss and Mr Neil Wegener. Our boys have had the benefit of working with both teachers and they truly enjoy the time they spend at lessons. It is nice to have two teachers who compliment each other so nicely. They can fill in for each other without disrupting the kids’ experience. We also enjoy the variety of music that is offered to our children, as it ranges from the classical composers to modern day pop music when the kids show an interest. That versatility has been key in keeping our children engaged and excited to learn more. We have been very impressed with our kid’s growth as musicians and know that it is a direct reflection of their teachers. We could not be happier with our decision to use High Range Piano, Inc for our children’s piano instruction.

Dr. Feiss has been our piano teacher for over 4 years and we couldn't be happier with the results we have seen. Dr.Feiss has a great demeanor suitable for younger children, adolescents, and adults-anyone! Dr.Feiss is knowledgeable in not only piano lessons, but is involved in various associations that connect the students to several different musically centered activities throughout the year. There is an Acheivement Day where kids get to create music themed art projects and perform. Dr. Feiss is a member of the piano Guild Organization that gets your piano student audition for judges from around the country. Dr. Feiss is exceptionally professional and his involvement with nationwide organizations ensures that your piano student is a part of something much bigger than just piano lessons. Highly recommended Dr. Feiss as your piano instructor.

I am a fourth year student with Dr. Fiess and have nothing but praise for his teaching abilities and methods! He’s a gentle soul with the patience of a saint when it comes to instruction and encouragement to push you to do better. His lessons are very direct and to the point with very little lost time due to talking about things other than the lesson. No matter how much one practices and perfects a piece, Dr. Fiess will add the next level of detail to improve your dynamics or fingering to create a smoother transition or greater emphasis to your music.
High Range Piano, Inc.'s reply
Thank you Robert. It is always heart-warming to us to see students continue to perfect their musical expression to greater degrees!!!! We are grateful to have you as part of our studio family, and find your enthusiasm to be inspiring!!!

We have been very lucky to be going to High Ranch Piano for 4.5 years with our children. Both Dr. Fiess and Mr. Wegener are wonderful, patient teachers who continue to push my children's ability level and allow them to play various types of music styles. In addition, they give their students many opportunities throughout the year to play with in both a non-competitive and competitive setting. And finally with a busy life with 4 children, they are very accommodating with our schedule. This has been a great studio for our family.
