I believe in your right to get married! I'm passionate about helping couples have a wonderfully beautiful wedding ceremony. I am non-traditional, LGBTQ+, BDSM, and inter-racial/ethnic/religious friendly. There is not enough love in this world! Why should anyone stop those that are in love from becoming a family?? There is NO good reason!
Your wedding ceremony does NOT have to be religious in tone! It doesn't have to have any religion in it at all! I can work with you to make your ceremony just what you want it to be--lovely, romantic, and memorable, just like the rest of your wedding day.
I don't hike, so please don't ask. As you can imagine, there's a terrible story that goes along with that!
Pricing starts at $275 and goes up from there. That includes, among other things, phone consultations before your wedding to discuss your ceremony, a personalized/custom wedding script, traveling to your venue within one hour of Asheville, performing your ceremony, and signing your marriage license. I do not issue your marriage license, that happens at your county's (or the county you're getting married in) Register of Deeds. But I CAN and will help you get started on applying for your marriage license and help you get through the process with minimal hassle.
Please NOTE: If you are looking for someone local to you, I am in Asheville and work in the surrounding areas. I'm happy to drive further than the hour included in the $275 initial cost, but there is an additional travel fee for that.
Towns within an hour of me (and require NO travel fee): Asheville, Waynesville, Black Mountain, Fletcher, Hendersonville, Canton, Candler, Swannanoa, Lake Lure, Mills River, Flat Rock, Johnson City.
Towns within 2 hours of me that require at least at $50 travel fee (exact fee depends on the address of your venue): Charlotte, Spartanburg, Clemson (SC), Greenville (SC), Hiddenite (NC), Gatlinburg, Young Harris (GA), Blairsville (GA).
Let’s talk professional wedding officiants and bust a myth while we’re at it.
Myth : Wedding officiants just work 20 minutes, at the wedding.
Truth : Pro officiants like myself spend hours on each ceremony.
Here’s some of what goes into each and every ceremony I do:
• Crafting/writing your personal ceremony.
• Editing your custom ceremony.
• Planning the logistics and elements of your ceremony--handfasting,
unity candle, sand pouring, broom jumping, etc..
• Researching + practicing rituals--Jewish, Asian, hippie? I can do it all.
• Guiding you on obtaining the marriage license.
• Providing wedding vows assistance.
• Completing the marriage license paperwork + returning the license to
issuing Register Of Deeds, if you'd like.
• Holding intentional space to celebrate your LOVE and supporting you.
• Engagingly performing your ceremony on wedding day, with
experience, warmth, care, joy + finesse.
• Continuing and constant education about new laws, requirements,
current trends, etc.
• Answering your questions + emails.
• Travel time to venue + time on location before and after the ceremony.
• Oh, and I’ll be your biggest cheerleader! Need a hankie at the alter?
Check! Need extra time to get your grandma down the aisle? I'll hold
the space. Want to include something that the other side of the aisle
might not understand? I'll do it with grace and empathy, helping both
sides to enjoy your big day.
You are paying for professional services when you work with me. I am experienced, can answer or find the answer to just about any question you have about your ceremony. I'm open to all kinds of cultural beliefs, have no judgement about who or what you want to include in your wedding, and have experience with just about anything you can request. I know what makes your ceremony legal and what doesn't. I am physically ordained, so your wedding will be legal AND spiritually, lovingly, and eternally binding.
Your ceremony can be customized to your commitment, religious, or ethnic beliefs. I'll work with you to be sure everything is covered.
I am available for dress rehearsals, elopements, small or large ceremonies. I am willing to work with your venue to make sure your ceremony is exactly as you wish it to be. But, I'm not a wedding coordinator...I am the person who marries you and signs your paperwork.
I am authorized to perform weddings in any state in the union. I'm also fully vaccinated and boosted (as is my family) and will continue to get boosters, as the CDC recommends.
A bit about me personally: My husband and I just celebrated our 11 year anniversary. He is a teacher and coach who loves to read and watch every kind of sport you can imagine. I am an antiques dealer and wedding officiant, as well as a High Impact Literacy Tutor in public schools, who loves to cook and craft. We have a beautiful daughter who is the light of our lives and has special needs. We all live in Asheville with our rescued dachshund, Macy.
