- How did you get started doing this type of work?
At age 19 I had the opportunity to increase my confidence in acupuncture when I was diagnosed with a nerve disfunction in my right arm. My hand and wrist swelled, my upper back was as hard as a rock, the nerves stopped firing and it wasn't long before even small movements were impossible. My neurologist pushed me to try steroids and seizure medications which were unsuccessful. None of the doctors could explain what was happening. After months of frustration and my symptoms getting worse, I decided to try acupuncture. I felt so well cared for and really heard by my acupuncturist. After a few sessions my arm started to improve, but what was most striking was how much better I felt in every aspect of my life. My depression lifted, my asthma improved and I felt better equipped to make some lifestyle changes I desperately needed. The side effects of acupuncture were incredible and so unexpected. I am glad to say that, after consistent treatment and significant lifestyle changes, my hand is mobile, and I am almost able to write normally again. Acupuncture helped to bring my body back to optimal health and its essential nature. I know that it can do the same for you.
