FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every business is different and their needs vary. Some businesses may not have a website or the site they have is dated and not optimized. A company needs to realize that there is no 'silver bullet' solution. Depending on the type of business, they may need a number of videos to explain products or services where another company can explain everything on a simple 'brochureware' website of blog.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for experience and references above all else. These days every unemployed real estate agent is calling themselves a social media expert. As the author of two Internet business books and founder of two Internet start-ups, I know what it takes to get traction online.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish they realized how their business would change and their marketing budget reduced if their website suddenly became their greatest source of lead generation or sales. If that was known, the decision to invest in search engine optimization and social media marketing would be an easy one. If all of a sudden they were getting hundreds of unique visitors to their website and it told a compelling story...buying my services would be a no-brainer.
